About the Artwork
Whether she’s being painted by Andy Warhol, stealing scenes in Toy Story 3 or inspiring the title track of a Dolly Parton album (Backwoods Barbie), Barbie has been a part of pop culture for almost as long as she’s been in toy stores. So giving her the Pop Art treatment was something Wallshoppe couldn’t resist.

This collection of Barbie-inspired pop prints features Warhol-esque quadriptyches, 70’s rainbow fantasias and blueprint illustrations pulled directly from Barbie’s 1950’s patent applications. “Not only are the patent illustrations fascinating from a historical perspective, they’re just so inspiring,” says Wallshoppe’s TK. “They’re a reminder to all of us that all big ideas start small…and sometimes, with a little luck and a lot of work, those ideas can go on to change the world.”
