About the Artwork
This photograph graced the box cover of several “Pink Sparkles” playsets in the early 1990’s. The Wallshoppe creative team stripped away all the text and graphics to showcase the beauty of the photo itself and the story Barbie seems to be telling about herself. It’s a story that says: I’m not too cool to do my own laundry…but I prefer to do it with a glamorous hairdo and pumps that match my appliances.

The Wallshoppe creative team, who selected and prepared the archival image for its debut on the unframed acrylic medium, shared that their favorite thing about this image is the “quintessential Barbie nature of it” and that Barbie can never get enough pink, even with her washer and dryer!

Through her example, Barbie proves that even Laundry Day can be glamorous if you put a little effort in.
